11 Facts About the Lamborghini Urus SUV to Make You Drool

There’s a really nice mall that’s just a few miles from my home. It’s in a suburb of a bigger city. We have a few professional sports teams in our city and the practice fields & stadiums aren’t too far away from this mall.

Because of this, I can usually go to the mall parking lot almost any day of the week and see really fresh cars parked casually among the mom vans and soccer SUVs.

One such beast was parked at the mall one day. I spotted it driving past us as we waited to park. It pulled into a spot just behind us.

It was a bright yellow Lamborghini – but it was, wait, it was a Lamborghini SUV! I was stunned. Up until that day I didn’t know such a vehicle existed.

I had to know more. I found out that it’s called the Lamborghini Urus.

The Lamborghini Urus SUV is as legendary as its name suggests it would be. It is sleek, stylish, and luxurious. While it has a hefty price tag, it is the most affordable vehicle in the Lamborghini lineup.

When Was it First Produced?

The Urus SUV is made by Lamborghini. The concept design was created by Filippo Perini and the production version by Mitja Borkert. It was unveiled in 2017 and was on the market for the 2018 model year.

The engine is not a Lamborghini original, but borrowed from the VW Group and used in the Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Continental, and Audi R8. However, Lamborghini added its own touch to the engine by slightly redesigning it so it can produce 641 hp and 627 Lb-Ft of torque.
